Metzingen offers many language courses for adults.

In addition, you can also use many offers to learn by yourself: With videos, mobile apps and worksheets.


We would like to present a selection of these offers to you on this page. You will also find general information on language and integration courses and the German school system. All children in Germany go to school and learn German there.


Adult Education Centre Metzingen


In Metzingen, most language courses and integration courses are offered by the VHS (Adult Education Centre). Open integration course counselling is available every Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12.00 in the afternoon.

Getting started German


In "Portal Deutsch" you will find free language course offers of the Adult Education Association. The site is available in 21 languages, including German, English, Polish, Turkish, Persian, Arabic and Tigrinya.


The free language learning "Einstieg Deutsch" app offers a variety of exercises for initial language training.

The app is available in ten languages (Arabic, Dari, English, Farsi, French, Kurmanji, Pashto, Tigrinya, Turkish and Urdu)

With the free  learning portal of the Adult Education Association, you can learn and practice German according to your individual needs at the levels A1 to B1.


The offer is available in 16 languages, among others in GermanEnglish, Turkish, Arabic, Russian, French and Greek.

The German school system

The best place for children and teenagers to learn a new language is at school. As a general principle, all children in Germany must attend a school. This means that you also have to register your children in a school. General information on the German school system (compulsory schooling, duration, types of school and much more) can be found on the Goethe-Institut website. The site is available in a total of 24 different languages, among others:  German, Spanish, Persian, Portuguese, French, Russian, Tigrinya, Turkish, Arabic and Serbian.
